Here is a post from Bryce-IL (a very experienced and respected Explorer SE user). It is a great read. I tried to copy its format for the most part. Start Quote -

For any of you guys who want to see how the CTX screen looks, targets sound, etc.
Enjoy - Albert
Here is a 9 deep zinc coin, compared in 50 CO and Combine:

Here is an 8 Coin in the side of the hole on angle:

Here is the test that Kyle requested (on another forum) in reference to a Norfolk Wolf video. It was actually pretty fun to do. I have to say I learned a lot and have a lot more questions. After the CTX performed well with the targets 6 - 10 apart (not all on video) I basically spent the test...
(I posted this on the boards with testers for the CTX - Hoping for a Minelab solution)
This is regarding Gray Ghost, Sun Ray, Chef Phones, etc. not shutting off the detectors speaker when connected to the headphone module. This is not about the WM10, just those of us with the starter pack...
Guys,
I have to say, by far, this is the best (and cheapest) loop I have come across for coins. It has a bright light (if need be) and really helps to make out the details on the coil. It has 45X magnification - I imagine the stronger ones won't work very well so don't go above 45X.
You can...
I got some great footage of some coins in iron and here is one of them. Less than 3 minutes long.
Here I dug a smaller coin in fairly heavy iron at 8. You can really see the Fe numbers CONSISTENTLY stay down, at least from one angle. Don't pass up those Fe numbers in the 20's - investigate...
This intro to the E-Tracs 2D screen is more for those unfamiliar with it’s operation but also might be of interest for those of us who use it on a regular basis. My ground is iron mineralized, so a lot of what I am writing here might be more important to those not in sweet ground. I should say...
(Deeper in my soil and measured with a tape measure!) Each Video is only 3 minutes and edited. Settings given as well as Coins VDI readings out of ground. Longer swings are kind of hard as the ground is a bit trashy in places, but I did it where possible. I hope to improve on these videos so...
I found this small target at around 9“ in TTF. I almost walked past it as it was just a very slight “blip” in between the iron sounds. I was running in manual 30 and then checked the signal in auto +3, which was running at 29 (When it’s that high I usually just go to manual 30 if conditions...
Hey guys,
It was warmer today so I went out looking for deeper coins. I only could find 2 in 6 hours! But, I did get one of them on video.
I Played with the following settings:
Ground Neutral vs. Difficult
Audio response Normal vs. Long
Fast On vs. Fast off
Deep on vs. Deep off
Would love...
Markg over on another forum posted this:
Etrac sounds
Now, not everyone has experienced this on targets at the end of the detection depth spectrum. I have seen this thunk on some deeper targets (8) and gotten a little bit of it on video. But I got a good signal after the E-Trac locked on...
Hey Guys,
The ground will probably be frozen here shortly so I thought to put up a couple of videos which are more on the educational side. I thought had noticed this E-Trac locking on to targets and got it on video. This is where you get a so so signal and then it appears to get better.
I...
Hey guys,
I thought it would be interesting to get your comments on this target. It was around 9 or so deep and zinc. It's in bad shape, nothing special but I got a lot of swings in over the target so we could investigate the sounds and screen and also changed fast on to fast off for a...
This big dog scared the C R A P out of me. Imagine digging a hole and not hearing a thing and then turning to your left and seeing a dog 6 from your face that is taller than you when you are up on your knees! Well, I was only shocked as I'm not afraid of dogs. Man it was a great experience (in...
