Hi Guys,
Dug this a couple weeks ago and have been busy so just got around to posting it. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but it was deep and I dug it in a nearby town which was founded in the 1850's.
Thanks for looking!
A little double rainbow action. It was a beautiful day today. Driftwood1963 got a permission at a very promising yard in a nearby town. I came across several shallow high tones signals and of course scratched the only one that was anything good. I joked with Driftwood that I might have to...
Driftwood, Dime-o-mite, and I got out yesterday for a few hours on a new yard that looked promising. We all scored silver and some other assorted relics. I got lucky and hit a coin spill with 4 mercs in it. It was right next to a large iron ring which may have shielded it from previous...
Hi,
I went out today with my buddies, and hit a good target with four tokens in one hole. The 5 dollar one is a new one for me. Snagged a little silver and an Indian head as well.
Thanks for looking
Hi guys,
It's been a while since I've posted and I've found some great things recently and hope to post them soon. Anyways, I found this token last week and having others like it decided to try my hand at restoring it. I was going for a two tone look, since it is so difficult to see details...
Hi everyone,
I found my third silver dollar today. I was hunting an empty lot with my buddies driftwood1963 and and his son JJ. Robert dug a really nice 1890's barber early on so I figured the site had some potential. I wasn't really having much luck having only dug a ornate victorian style...
Hi guys and gals,
Last weekend I got the opportunity to hunt some of the 1846 battle site for the Battle of Nauvoo just outside of Nauvoo Illinois. Bob Baxter organized most of it , and got permission from the various land owners. We had an archeologist, Paul Debarthe and a historian. The...
I dug this stuff while hunting with my detecting buddies driftwood1963 and dime-o-mite. The trade token is a D.M Vredenburg and dates to only one year, 1916. In 1917 Vredenburg presumably sold a partnership in his Mooreland general store and the tokens become Vredenburg and Lewis tokens. The...
Hi everyone,
My hunting buddy driftwood and I hit a new yard yesterday. I dug my first Barber half and a couple early mercs. I've been having a great year having dug two silver dollars within a week, earlier this summer and a lot of other great finds. This find seems like the icing on top of...
Went out and hit a couple yards with driftwood and his son today. I scored 8 wheats, a couple silvers, and 2 pretty awesome tokens. The Ford is a commemorative 30 year anniversary token from 1933. The other token commemorates the opening of the Meridian Highway bridge in Yankton, South Dakota...
Hi,
When I first dug this one it had so much pocket wear I thought it was a tool tag.
People used to hole tokens and coins and then run a loop string or wire through them so that they wouldn't lose them. Sometimes they would sew them into their clothing. I like them better then intact coins...
Hi,
I dug this one yesterday while hunting with a driftwood and his son. It was a jumpy fortyish signal on my v3i under two pieces of rusty wire. I'm guessing the S inside two circles means that it's gold plated silver?? The stones are frosty unless you get them wet and then they are...
