    Just a few relics today

Managed a few relics down in Starr SC this week. Two wheaties,, a couple of buckles,,, a couple of reins guides,, a couple of overall buttons,,, what I think might be a cracked Model T valve stem cover ( if they were ever made of steel ?) Not much, but still got out of the house.

    Good Feelings For 2016

I've got a feeling 2016 is going to be a good year for me. First off, I bought a Teknetics T2 and almost immediately my finds were improving. Secondly,,, there is an 1800's park in my little town the get's hammered by the locals,, and I mean hammered frequently. In the last two years I have...

    Karats for Christmas!!!

So for Christmas I got a new Lesche Sampson shovel and a rain cover for the T2. Even though it was muddy out, I just felt the need to get the shovel dirty. Turns out it was a good thing I did,,, as I got my first gold ring. It was a bouncy signal, about 7 inches down. Also found a old Smurf...

    Aiplane Pin Thingee,,,

Found where an early 1900's home used to sit. About 50 ft. from where I recently found the Indian Wars era General Service button. I'm thinking Wright Brothers flight related, but am having no luck finding anything on it. Perhaps if I could figure out what it attached to, I could narrow it down...

    Indian Wars??

I personally didn't know a lot about what's called "The Indian War Era". Did a little reading and thought I'd share one link. Not sure how accurate it is ( or isn't ), but it was a good read just the same...

    Coil working again

A few weeks back I managed to get water in my 8x6 detech coil. I loved that coil and it was missed. After spending some time in a bag of rice I got her out and she seems to work just fine. I had a couple of hours yesterday morning and hit a patch of planted pines that lay beside a small river. I...

    Bounty Hunter find,,,,

I sold an old Bounty Hunter to a friend today. Before the meet, I decided I'd take it outside and test the batteries and be sure everything was working okay. After only 30 seconds and only 25 feet from my back door I found this beautiful old pendant watch. Needless to say I was pretty surprised...

    Thanks Trooper Bri,,,

I found an old Georgia button yesterday ( post war ). After a good cleaning I tried the elmer's glue sealing tip you shared on a video. Pretty cool that after 3 coats it still doesn't look like it has anything on it. Thanks for the tip my friend!! Before and after,,

A couple of bucket lister's for the newb,,,

I got out and had a pretty good hunt this afternoon after work. I had hit this house twice before,, and it keeps giving. Got a 42 merc, a 42 war nickel, a 37 Buffalo, and six wheaties ( oldest was a 27 ). The nickels were on my bucket list.

    Totally random V nickel,,

Every week day my wife and I walk 4 miles around the Elementary, Middle and High Schools. The fields have been pounded by detectorists over the years, and it's hard to find much more than clad or pencil eraser caps. On Thursday I took note of this small patch of grass across the street from one...

I'm in the Barber club finally

After doing my afternoon exercise walk, I squeezed in an hour and a half of swinging. On my way home I stopped by a private residence that I always felt had potential, but up until today hadn't given up much. Well the silver gods shined down on my MXT today and gave me my first Barber dime,,, a...
