    Polished bell

The bell that I got last week was scratched from trying to remove it from its grave. I polished it and put a clapper in it. Its ringing again after probably 100 years, sounds pretty good.

    Mercury Dime & Bell

Found this merc on the road to a cellar hole. Found the bell at the cellar hole. I've found smaller ones like the one next to it,but this one is twice as large. I almost gave up on it cause it was next to a tree, and part of it was in the tree. Plus it was about 9 Inches down. After about 20...

    Melted Seated Liberty dimes

Found these in a field. They seem like they would be in great condition if they weren't in a fire. Gave a great signal and thought it might be a piece of lead but to my surprise it was three (3) dimes.

More finds from the past six outings.

Large cent is 1818, not in very good condition, but I like them anyway. The button I don't think is millitary, but still a nice find. I'm not very good at posting so,these may not be right. Thanks for looking. [attachimg=4][attachimg=3][attachimg=2][attachimg=1]

    Cleaning coins

I have a question about what most detectorist do to a coin after cleaning. A lot of coins that I see displayed here look as if they have been sprayed with a clear lacquer. If this is right, I would think that the lacquer would protect it and stop it from corroding. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.
