    This is what happens!

Don't ever be fooled. Someday this will happen to you! And someone will say "I told you so" Substitute the fishing rods for your favorite detector....

    New way to clean coins?

This happened by accident. I had dug this penny up and forgot it was in my pocket when I washed my clothes. Found it rattling around the bottom of the washing machine when I was taking them out to move to the dryer. I was surprised at how clean it came out! I wish I had a before picture but...

Massachusetts planning on banning metal detecting on state beaches

Could use some help with this issue, if anyone would like to sign the petition I believe it might help the cause. Thank you! Tom. http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/commissioner-jack-murray.fb68?source=s.fb&r_by=10394344

    Tryed out new coil

Hello MangoAve, it's my understanding that if you don't dig the pull tabs you'll be missing a lot of rings. To be fair about the diversity of the finds in the pictures they were culled from all over the beach, top, bottom, high and low tides, wet sand, dry sand, from the rocks etc. I would not...

    Tryed out new coil

Spent a little more time with the 950, had to dig a lot of junk to find what I did. Costume earring and a few coins. Was not the best of nights had to work pretty hard.:needadrink: The dime is 1899, the penny is 1973, and cannot read the date on the nickel but it is not an oldie. Pretty...

    Ticks

And then the forum went totally silent....... :shocked02: But on another note, this popped up on my facebook today, no idea if it works, I have not tried it but thought I would pass it along! It looks really simple and cheep. :thumbsup01:

    Tryed out new coil

Got back out there with the 950 again last night, was so windy I had a hard time keeping the coil on the ground! :detecting:Found a bunch more lead and still no gold. That rod on the left side is some kind of, well I'm not sure, it's not metallic but it registered on the detector! Feels like...

    Tryed out new coil

Second trip to beach with new coil, meant to take the 4x6DD but forgot it on counter! :shocked01: So this is more of the same with the 950. Couldn't believe I dug up an entire mini van! I keep hoping for a ring among the lead coinnut but noting yet!

    Tryed out new coil

Made it out to the beach yesterday trying out a 9.5 concentric coil I just got from Ronandari for my V3i. Worked well, no fantastic treasure but found a bunch of lead weights, bottle tops, pull tabs, clad coins and fishing swivels etc. This coil works a lot better on the salt beach than the 10D2...

Ahhh Yes I got my first gold of the year

    First ring this year

Here is a picture of one the foundations for the gun turrets at Salisbury Beach. These were placed on our coastline to protect the entrance to the Merrimack river during WWII. I'm told that during the war citizens were not allowed on the beach. Apparently we were defending against any possible...

    Favorite Pluse Induction Detectors

Was wondering if anyone would be willing to share what their favorite PI "water proof" detector is and why. I'm thinking about buying one and although I've only owned Whites detectors (VLF's) I'm not sure that would be the way to go for this type of machine? I'll be using it mostly at salt...

back to the beach last night

Made it to the beach to try out my replacement coil for the V3i, whites finally sent it to me. The V3i is working well once again. The beach was, for lack of the proper term "sanded out"? The sand moved from the top out! Found quite a few coins and also a Pontiac Chief of the Sixes car token...

    V3i Driving you Crazy?

Something that new and old V3i users alike might need to be aware of, if they are not already. Is the fact that whites has had a lot of problems with their 10" D2 V rated coil. Now don't get me wrong the coil is a dam fine one when it is working properly, maybe one of the best. However, when it...
