Went to the local beach last night and besides digging about 60 WW2 bullets had a very iffy signal so thought i'd better dig it as you know know what it may be. When it was out i still didn't know excatly what it was before i cleaned it and let me tell you...it was not an easy task.
I am so pleased with this little beauty. I've been detecting about 9 months now and this is my 1st ever Roman item and what a nice item to start with.
It's a Roman Fibula Brooch with the pin intact which most pins are missing.
Been spending quite a bit of time of the beach the last few days and it's never failed to produce. Here are a few from the last few days.
9ct from Birmingham 1859
William Wood's 1723 Hibernia halfpenny
bit of rolled gold
Merchant Navy Badge
1956 Two Shilling
This good luck charm ...
Got this the other day but have no idea of it's age or where it came from. I've been told possibly Spanish or from Peru ??
It's made of Pewter and is quite Thick and has the same design on both sides.
Any help would be very useful as i haven't a clue.
