Awesome Dagger from 1525 Farmer's War

Hello Diggers,
On my recent trip to Germany, I asked the guys to make a day trip to the site where a battle took place during the Farmer's War of 1525. The daggers from this war are unlike those of other wars and they are easy to spot with the small clamshell handguard. During this period, peasants and non-military were forbidden to own any "weapons of war." A knife with a hand guard was not allowed. When the Farmers' War (aka Peasants' Rebellion) broke out, they had to make their own swords, daggers, and spears to fight with. Ordinary, large knives were converted into daggers by adding a small handguard. For some reason, the most popular choice was shaped like a clamshell.

After a couple hours of detecting, we had all found various odds and ends. Then, I got a big iron signal about 10 inches deep. As I was digging, the first part I uncovered was the clamshell handguard! I called all the guys over and they helped me dig it out of the roots. I was very happy when I realized I had found the dagger I was hoping to find! Amazingly, I found this dagger exactly 500 years (to the day) after the battle occurred! How's that for cool?

Thanks for looking and happy digging!
