Here is a hammered silver I found on my recent trip to Germany. It dates to sometime in the 1500's. We went to a spot in the forest where our friend had found 42 silver coins about 10 years ago. He said t
hey all dated to the 1500s. We spent an hour there moving brush and dead trees and we actually found 3 more! This one was about 8 inches deep and rang up a 36 on my Deus II. That's right, a 36! I really like this one because it was minted in Strasbourg, France (my favorite city in Europe!). Strasbourg used the Fleur de Lis for hundreds of years as their symbol and it eventually became the symbol for all of France.
