    Inexpensive Trash pouch

Some years back I bought this pouch at Home Depot for not much money. They still have them. It slips on your belt easily, holds a lot of junk and wears strongly ( all leather). I wear it on my belt on one side. On the same side I wear this adjusted tool hanger for my Lesche digger. The...

    Sunburn produces gold/silver

I spent about 5 hours digging park's areas today - got my first sunburn of the season. Only 85 today so it wasn't bad. Dug a bunch of coins and these goodies. The necklace and butterfly pendant are both stamped 925 so I presume they are gold plated as they look gold. The coin is a Canadian...

    Making a coin display

Some years back I saw a display of all coins ( except gold) minted during the 20th century for sale. It wasn't a big price but I thought I had a bunch in the safe deposit already. So I looked and came up with all but about 3-4 of them. So why not use my dug coins - so much more personal. So here...

    Testing silver

I just posted this on the General section but thought I'd put it here also. When you dig an item that you think might be silver - put a small drop of Silver Black on it and if it won't wash off it's silver. Bottle doesn't cost much - probably find one at a large jewelery store. steve in so az

    Old lawns/new lawns

Sometimes when in an old house site the lawn is built upon with newer soil. What I have found is that if you look for the lower parts of the lawn the older coins can be found. Examples : The lawn goes along flat across the yard. But when it comes to a typical hedge or any bushes it drops off...
