    ANOTHER CT Copper

Decided to go back to the field I was at yesterday. Glad I did. Started off real slow, and I mean slowwwwww. First signal is what I think a piece of a shoe buckle frame and I say that only because of the hole where the pin would have gone. Next was a nice button, shank intact. I am really...

    CT Copper - - Buttons

Today I went back to the field where last year I got that really nice CT copper, seated and a 1/2 reale. This field did not disappoint this time around either. First signal of the day, a very nice sounding 84-85 VDI. Of course everybody knows what it turned out to be....an ox knob. Boy do they...

Some Buttons, IH and a Coronet LC ?

On my way to work one day last week I noticed that in one of my favorite fields the corn had been cut...:yahoo: Today I went there and got a few keepers. The IH is 1889 with a nice green patina. The LC has no date or lettering that I can see. What I can see is the head which I am thinking is a...

My V3i is off to the hospital

Had to ship the old trusty V3i off to Sweet Home for a new toggle switch. Seems that after 7 years of pretty good use those switches just give out. In the past White's customer service has been excellent so I am expecting the same treatment.

    2 Hour Park Hunt

Seeing that most of my fields that I hunt have now been planted I went to a park today. This is the park that Rob and myself have repeatedly hit and have gotten many, many silvers out of. Today I ran the V3i in the Hi-Pro single freq 2.5 and got some keepers. The 2 mercs are dated 1917 and...

I got to do my bosses house this pm. Its a 1902 in the city. Very small yard, front yard had two 5'x7' areas and back yard was maybe 20'x40'. Started in the front and got a 1911 wheat and a nice 1924 buffalo. Probably the nicest buffalo I have dug. Told ya, short and sweet.... Another coin...

    1st Draped Bust LC

Went out this morning to the field where I had found the really nice CT copper. Went in Hi-Pro 2.5 freq. Found the musket ball first then a bunch of junk. I got a nice VDI of 78-81 and out popped this draped bust. Don't think I'll get a date but there is enough of the bust to ID the coin. Gave...

    My Fine D.I.N.E. finds

Went to the Digging In New England (D.I.N.E.) hunt which was in West Kingston RI. The hunt went from 8am to about 4pm. It was a great time and got to finally meet some members face to face. A huge turnout with people from New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire that I know of. A big farm and we...

Thought I was pretty good at this detecting thing......

Went back to the 1900 house that last week I managed 6 IH's and 2 silvers from. I was pretty sure that I had picked that front yard clean......boy was I wrong. Right near the front door I get this 66 VDI (now where did this come from) proceeded to dig and what's in the hole another IH. Well how...

    Very Good 1900's House Hunt

To start with the 1910 wheat was found on another hunt at a park Today I went to a house that a friend had purchased to flip, a 1900 colonial. First item was a memorial cent :girlcry:. Oh no not one of these hunts where the expectations are high but .......that was not the case. Next up was a...

Dandy button - copper ? - Dime trifecta

Had to go into work for a little in the PM so I decided to hit up the field that RobW, KPMoose, Lee and TrooperBri have been to. Decided to do a little experiment with the V3i. Ran in Hi-pro single frequency, 2.5. The first good find would be the very toasted copper which I think is a...

1812 half reale and some buttons

Went over to a field that I have been hunting and managed some keepers. Lots of junk (nails), on ox shoe, and the following buttons. The back mark on the little one says Double Gilt. The last good find was unexpected to say the least. Had a good VDI of 80-81, dug the plug and saw the silver...

    Farm hunt with Lee

Lee came up to MA today and we hit up a farm here that in the past has been pretty good to everybody, until today. Sorry to say, no coppers, no IH's, but I did get a wheat(1953).... My best find would be the boot heel plate, think I have 5 now. The other smaller item I thought was a tombac...

Nice Flat Button and Silver Pendant

Got out with RobW today. The ground was tough to get into at first but as the day progressed it became softer. Rob killed it in the old coin dept while I was the bug on the windshield. Don't know if he'll post so I'll give a review. To start with he gets a wheat, then a 1860 IH, then a flat...

Thread Showcasing Member's Two Best Finds of 2014

Not having the usual amount of hunts as in previous years these choices were simple. Number 1 best find for me is the 1787 Ct copper(its a Miller 33.34-Z.11) and number 2 would be the MA militia button (dating from 1808 - 1823).
