Hit a local community park built 1960's. Got in about 1.5 hours before I had had to pack up and head to work >:#. Did manage to find a '58 Rosie and '44, '45, and '53 Wheat. Also got a bunch of clad. Doesn't seem hunted out, coins every couple of steps. Will have to hit again when time allows...

Since school is out this week, I hit a local school that gave up a Merc last week. Dug a 1948 Washington, my first silver quarter.

On call today so I had to stay local. Hit a school that dates to the '50's. Found a '44 and '48 wheat, '27 Merc and an old bell. Happy hunting all! :beerbuddy:

Got a quick hunt in at my favorite woods site before work today and found a flat button and a '44 Merc. Also found the usual clad.

Ventured back to the bottle site I found a few days ago. Found some nice old bottles. I looked them up on ebay and when my wife saw what they were getting for them she was out there digging with me :peace:. Now thats a first lol. Most of the bottles were broken, but I found an intact milk bottle...

Took the 3X6 shooter out in the woods behind my house and it found an old bottle dump site (it picked up the tops of the Mason jars). I will have to carefully excavate when I have some time. Lots of old broken bottles and Mason jars and some that look 1950's era. Also found a gold plated belt...

Hit a new woods spot thats finally free of snow :clapping:. Found a nice gold necklace half buried in the ground, VDI'd a solid 20. It passed the magnet test, I ordered an acid test kit to determine the karat. HH

55 degress today and after 2 months saw some ground <:. Got out for a quick hunt before work and found a junk ring that VDI'd at 20 at 6 inches and a toy car stamped she's a beaut #2 inside. It was great to be out again :yes:. HH

Took the dog for a walk in the woods today and found an earthen wall which I find in many of the woods I search on Long Island. They appear to be hand dug and fairly straight, some actually have 90 degree corners :thinkingabout:. Anyone know the history of such walls, are they from the same time...

Went on a nice woods hunt last Sunday with Pulltab Steve. Snow was pretty deep so finds were limited. Did find an old shotgun shell, all brass, made by Union Metallic Co. Bridgeport, Conn. They made shells from 1867-1911 before being bought by Remmington. Found a cool website for dating shotgun...

Got out for a 1.5 hour hunt today before running some errands. Hit a local woods spot in my home town that has been pounded hard since the 80's. Every time I go there I see fresh plugs everywhere. Found 2 rosies and some kind of token. Its about the same size as a large cent but thin as a dime...

Can't thank Pulltab Steve enough for finding the King George penny I lost a few weeks back. Steve and I were hunting woods and I found a large copper. I rested the coin on my shovel for a picture and most likley after sending a text to my wife about the find grabbed my shovel and moved on...
