    Amazing Coinstar Find

It looks like a coin that has been in a fire. I couldn’t figure it out.

    Amazing Coinstar Find

I always check the coin return in the Coinstar machine at Walmart. Occasionally I will find a silver Rosie. I have my wife and brother doing it now too. Today my brother sent me this text: Yes, that lucky SOB found an 1845-O Seated Dime in the Coinstar machine!

    Happy independence day

I see what you did there! :thumbsup01: I hope you had a good one, Drew! Definitely not metal detecting weather here! :whiteflag:

    Four Dead In Ohio

Well, we weren't dead but the detecting conditions sure were! :crying01: We typically have good luck in Ohio but it wasn't to be this time. If you want to put a positive spin on it, we enjoyed each other's company for two days and had fun anyway, even if the finds were unexciting.

    I Finally Got Out

Detecting time has been scarce for me so far this year but I was finally able to get out for some local door knocking this past Saturday. I am almost embarrassed to post these finds after the amazing hunts some of you have been having lately, especially Jeff and Tim up in Wisconsin this past...

Our Button Field is Turning into Our Copper Field

Wonderful finds, Don! These fields are really paying off for you. The possibilities are very intriguing. You could find some sweet bucket list items. I found one of those Half Penny bank tokens in 2014 while hunting with Daddy Digger.

Found A Different Kind of Relic

While going through the vast accumulation of "stuff" at my parents' house recently I discovered this invoice for the Garrett metal detector that my dad bought way back in 1968! I must admit that I was somewhat shocked at how much they paid for it, they were on a limited income and that was a...

    Lady weapon

What a wonderful piece of history! Were you able to determine the manufacturer or approximate age? I imagine it originally looked similar to this one:

We Got The Band Back Together

Some of the Illinois Boys got together for a hunt this past Saturday. It was great detecting with Full Metal Digger again after a four-year absence. He hasn't lot his touch. I'm sure it was a lot different for him finding stuff from the 20th century though. Digger Don and Noah drove down and...

    Mist in the wilderness

Terrific finds and wonderful photos! I would be more worried about running into the knights who say ni! The Druidic fortune telling spindle is spectacular! Wow, what an incredible piece of history! I am curious about how it was used. I assume the coins are Roman? :congrats:

Bucket Lister! I Finally Found A...

... Silver Thimble! A sterling silver thimble has eluded me for 40+ years of metal detecting. I finally found one this past Saturday while hunting with Digger Don and Noah. It was in the yard of a house the owner told us was built in 1851. It is in really nice shape too. I am happy...

    Another Barber Quarter

The road has not changed, however the strip used to be lined with trees. Here's an aerial photo from 1938:

    Another Barber Quarter

It is a love/hate relationship! I just wish the silver coins came out of the ground in better shape at such sites. Still, it's fun finding Barber Quarters. I was able to determine that the brass object is the end from a 1930s Ray-O-Vac flashlight.

    Another Barber Quarter

I went back to the site where I found the 1902 Barber Quarter a couple of weeks ago. This is a strange site, I've found three silver quarters there now but only one silver dime. I'm not complaining!

    I got one too!

Beautiful Barber Quarter! :loveit: And it's from the 1800s too. That's awesome! I wonder if the little car is an old Cracker Jack prize? :thinkingabout:
