    Wax seal

Pretty cool find from last weekend. I received the Detech 13" Ultimate coil for a fathers day gift. Mike and I went to a spot we've detected plenty of times before. Dug this about 10" down. Going to clean it up a bit and give it to the homeowner.

    2 acres

A few weeks ago, Mike and I got permission to detect an old property. Mike found the copper Reale and I found some colonial coat buttons. When we were leaving we wanted to show the homeowner what we found. She was gone so we left a note for her to call us. A week went by with no call so we...

    1843 home finds

Mike and I got permission to hunt an old home. We walked up to the door just as the woman was leaving. We said our hellos and explained what we did. We didn't even have to ask if we could detect, she told us, "you boys are more than welcome to metal detect my property". 2 acre yard and 8 acres...

    1818

Mike and I got out for a few hours this morning. Happy to come home with this deep 1818. We we're digging a lot of 6" clad. Got this iffy 10"deep hit with the M6 and 6x10 setup. Looked sweet coming out of the hole! We also talked to a few locals and obtained some future private property hunts.

    productive day

Mike and I headed out to a historic society to talk to the Pres. and try to get permission to detect a very old mansion that we've been trying to get permission on since May. We finally got the approval and start on this location a week from today! :happydance02: Later in the day we're driving...

    Customer service

My buddy Mike was out detecting a school this weekend when his 3 year old 6x10 coil started acting up. It was overloading in the air. Swapped the M6 with the stock coil and it worked fine. I told him to pick me up and we'll run down to our Whites dealer to see about sending it out. We arrived...

    Silent field revisited

Rain yesterday was supposed to stop by 9am. It was still misting at noon so Mike and I were detecting in a muddy mess! We wanted to try that field we went to a few weeks ago that I had the silent hunt with no signals after digging a few buttons and musket ball the previous day. I only got 2...

    Farm finds

Mike and I got out on Saturday and ended up spending some time knocking on doors and setting up future hunts. We did stop at a new field towards the end of the day and spent about 30 minutes scouting it out. In that short time I got 5 buttons and a musket ball. :thumbsup01: It was getting late...

    Metal Detecting

Winter edition... The frost line is 6 to 8 inches in spot. The ground just laughs at the Lesche and shovel. Took out the heavy artillery today. Kind of a drag lugging them around but they made digging a little more acceptable.;)

    Potato camp

Typed a nice long post. Hit a button by mistake and its gone... :needadrink: Anyway, here's the condensed version.;) On Sunday Mike and I headed out looking for a camp that used to house potato pickers in the late 1700s to early 1800s. We had a map supplied by a local old timer who said he...

    I had to get out

Very rarely do I detect the beaches, but being a Long Islander and surrounded by water and beaches and also considering that every other place around here has a foot of snow and ice..... Well, you get the idea. I decided the only place to dig would possibly be the beach. I headed over to a very...
