    Horse Shoe date?

    I know it's hard to date a horse shoe but does anybody want to chime in? I found this near an area where there was significant troop movement during the Civil War. This doesn't mean that this is a shoe from then, but I wouldn't be too suprised. The shoe isn't very big but has at least 10 nails...

    I am interested to learn people's tactics for finding areas to go detecting. I was thinking that doing what everybody else isn't doing might have some merit but I am new at this and have no stats or real finds yet. Just started swinging my detector a few days ago and have a pile of junk items...

    Here's some of the stuff I found today. I have a full bucket of crap that I didn't take pictures of ( I'll spare you) but these are the highlights lol. The 2nd photo is of the strange balls stuck to the large iron hunk. I have no clue without cleaning it up.

    Hello from Fredericksburg Virginia!

    I just got a detector for Christmas and can't wait to get started! I have already gone out in the yard and practiced a bit finding Iron bits of debris most likely left there when they built my house. This area is rich with history and opportunities to discover forgotten relics! :grin:
