parking lot preparation yields old coins

I was able to spend a few hours detecting an old parking lot prior to it being reprocessed into a bigger and better parking lot. The area was apx. 12 X 40 feet and gave up quite the coinage. The trifecta of nickles...was great, but the greatest love for me was the two Indian head pennies.

Check one off my Bucket List

Made it out detecting this past Saturday to an old school yard near Price, Utah and found a 1966 class ring from the local high school. Now the fun of finding its rightful owner...it's a wish I've had for a long time. Can't wait to accomplish the task!!!

Question on the frequency you choose to use on your V3i:huh:

Just wondering how many V3i users choose to use a single frequency when detecting for deep coins? What is the deepest your machine can detect with confidence and accuracy and is that with a single, combination or dual frequency setting? Thanks for your feedback.

Determining ground mineralization with the V3i

Sooooo…it appears to me that understanding and determining the mineralization of the ground you are detecting when setting the different adjustments for the V3i are key to optimizing the machine’s ability to “go deep” for those old coins…below the 6” mark. Can/will some of you folks...

    SEF 1:blackeye:12 Butterfly coil

I've been reading and researching some on the SEF 1:blackeye:12 butterfly coil. Is anyone using this on their White's DFX or V3i or know of someone who is and can report on its success with either of these machines? Thanks for the help... w.w.

v3i and VDI of 19 for Ben Franklin 50 cent

Interesting experience yesterday while mding...I hit a strong 19 vdi with my V3i in some extremely dry soil here in Eastern Utah...dug the plug and at about 6 inches out comes a 1952 Franklin 50 cent piece instead of the anticipated nickle. w.w.
