What kind of button is this?

I was wondering myself when I saw it on your other post.. I'm pretty sure it's post Revolutionary.. only 5 stars lead me to believe it was from Connecticut as it was the fifth state to join the union.. However I went through all of my Albert's button book and couldn't find this particular button..

Had a chance to get out Thursday for a few hours and staying about 20 feet or so around the well. Did find a couple tombac buttons, and this decorative piece, not quite sure what it is, though I think it could be one part of a belt clasp of some sort.. thoughts anyone? And found another...

1746 KGII my best looking Copper yet

Yesterday went back to my new permission, and next to the well I found this 1746 KGII and it is by far my best copper yet, as far as detail goes. Just 20 feet from this coin I found a 1786-88 NJ copper and it was total waste. It's amazing how 1 coin can come out so bad and another come out so...

2 hours at new colonial site. Some nice finds.

Enjoyed the couple hours out in the nice sunshine and started metal detecting a new colonial property. Though I have an agreement that I wouldn't dig in the yard, she said I can do the rest of the property. The rest of the property is about 100 acres or so and most is very overgrown. But...

So, with this buckle, I really like it, but curious if I should leave it as is, or should I try to remove the green? I like as it is, but wonder if it would look better.. suggestions, opinions?

    Flying Eagle

The Wife asked me to take some wood to her aunt's house and I figured since I was there I would do some metal detecting in the woods. This place was built in the 1650s but have yet to find anything from the 1600s or 1700s, but I'll take what I can. Yesterday gave me 1901 Barber dime, and a 1857...

    Metal frame before & after

Found this 3"x6" metal frame last week where I was finding all the colonial 1700s buttons. . As you can see it was heavily rusted, but after a 3 days in electrolysis I was able 99.9% off. It did have a silver wash or plating still on it in some places, but came off during the process. Is...

    Beautiful day hunting

Sunday was nearly 70 degrees and just too beautiful of day to pass up some time in the woods. Went back to the colonial farm, pickings are getting slim but still managed to find a few things. Typically I don't dig many iron signals, but glad I did. found a 3x6 frame, that's going to get some...
