Found a new spot in the woods not far from one I had great success at last year. Not a lot of coins to be found, but what I pull up seems to be what I'm looking for. Although the LC is kind of toasted, it's a 1798. I always like finding coins with a 17 at the front of the date. The silver ring was found about 30' from the large cent and appears to be Victorian era. It's always nice to throw in a couple of Indians and misc artifacts. On the pocket watch on the left I rechecked the hole and found the winder. Pays to recheck your holes.

Nice finds! Isn't this a great hobby we have? You can just go into the woods and find old coins and lost jewelry! Best wishes and HH, Dave.

That's an incredible hunt right there! :notworthy:

The 1798 large cent actually looks pretty good to me! If I ever found a US coin from the 1700s I would be on cloud nine for a month!

And an 1895 Barber Quarter is nothing to sneeze at either! NICE! :loveit:

But I think my favorite is the ring, which is weird because I'm usually a coin person. But wow, that one looks really old and really cool! :smitten:

Congrats on the fantastic finds! :perfect10:

I know what you mean. I'm usually a coin guy, but was impressed with the ring and surprised to find it in the woods. From what I could find, it dates to somewhere between 1830 and 1910. The Barber quarter was a bonus as I found it as I was working my way back to the car. I went back this morning for an hour and came up with a Spanish American War button made by Horstmann in Philly and an unusual ox horn topper.

That is a great hunt Don. Love the Draped Bust and the Barber for sure. :loveit: That ring is sweet too. Is the stone glass or is it something like clear quartz or moonstone? Great hunt!!
