I had the opportunity to get some good finds out of my local park this summer when they decided to redo the entrance steps on the oldest corner of the park. I found 4 buttons and today I was able to identify one. Check it out.

Regards, Ken

Cool, I didn't really look up the value so much. Also, I was careful not to overclean it. I think it would like really good cleaned up, but I'm not confident that I'd not overdo it and end up with nothing!

Have a great day!

thats a great piece of political history you found Ken ,that button is cool example and in pretty nice shape . gives ya a good idea as to how old that park is , congrats .

Hi Del,

The oldest part of the park dates back to 1827 when it was given to the city as a park. It just kept growing. I would have loved to hunt it back in the 70's when guys were walking away with tons of silver coins. I'm lucky now because, to date, I think there are 2 other guys that detect it that I know of.

Regards, Ken

Real nice button, Ken. :clapping: :clapping: And a very old park too :shocked04: I would be in heaven there. Who knows what is still hiding at the 10 mark. That is one place that deserves a gridding. I wouldn't clean that button anymore. It looks good the way it is. Congrats on a nice relic. :happydance01:
