Yesterday I hunted at my 1870 house... again... I asked permission at a 1918 house nearby but didn't have any luck... no one answered and the rude neighbor told me to get the hell off the property........ smh....... so back to the 1870 cause I didn't feel like dealing with anymore rude people :/ At first I started off in the front yard where I got the first signal an iffy 40s - 60s and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it! A civil war sharps or spencer carbine with the casing still attached! (36 cal I think) and then I dug the other piece out from it...... later upon cleaning I noticed there's still fun powder inside! Awesome!!! Next signal I was digging a low tone and it's a piece of lead with an animal on it??? Then, in the side yard and I got a very bouncy iffy crappy signal and I couldn't believe an Indian was in the hole. That's #28 from this lone property....... I worked my way back towards the front yard and I got another iffy signal.... a wheat penny... cool! Then another iffy low tone... at 8" I get a crotal bell! My third one!! The odd thing about this one is that it has a patent date and the top of the bell is very odd looking compared to most crotal bells. The pat date is May 14 1876 to Oct 24 1876. Still jingles too. I get a very small pull tab signal ontop of the ground and there's a piece of a skeleton key! Awesome! I work my way to the back of the property through the front yard and get another wheatie and in the backyard i get a lipstick tube dated back to 1945 and a pocket watch backing (silver plated). That's about it for the hunt...... thanks for reading and looking . take care. HH all
