1883 Seated Dime!

Got out Sunday with several friends for some colonial cellar hole digging. It was a fun day but I didn't get my coil over anything earlier than the mid to late 1800's except for one little flat button. The find of the day for me was unexpected. I found a beautiful 1883 Seated Liberty Dime next to a well and cistern. 62218789_10214162819888081_6476097644782419968_n.jpg62188545_10214162819528072_468083780939153408_n.jpg62090741_10214156037838534_8167937098637115392_n.jpg This is only the fourth Seated I have found in 23 years. I love these little coins. Happy Hunting!

I think they stopped making Half Dimes in 1873, so yours must be a dime?

Either way it's a wonderful find, and it's in great shape!

:congrats:

Congrats on the silver and to see Dave's slump continue in person :groovy:

Thanks Danny! Not only did I see the slump continue for another week but, to add insult to injury, he dug up a CLAD spill at the cellar hole!

Yeah, it's a Dime. I don't know why I had Half Dime on my brain. I can't edit the post now. Thanks!

A clad spill at a cellar?? Holy smokes!! I feel for him. That could be a thread unto itself. I remember my two partners finding coppers near a cellar...then I got a good signal 10 feet from the lip...it was a memorial penny at 5 inches. I almost cried
That's a good looking silver, Donnie! The woods in New England are beautiful! Congrats!
