2 days at new site didn't quite pan out.

Hi all,
Spent the whole weekend working my permission at the mid 1800s lighthouse site. I have to say the place was terribly hard to detect with the amount of iron at the site. I was also very disappointed that in the amount of time and effort expended I couldn't uncover a single old coin-not even a wheatie!
I did manage to find one nice silver ring, and my second ever skeleton key. Also found headstamps from the 20s, a couple bullets, and even a dropped unfired rifle shell. Final tally of the clad is $2.90.

That's a good looking ring. Try hitting it again with one of your other detectors. HH, Dave.

That's exactly what I did. Saturday I hit it hard with the CTX. Sunday I went back over the site with the TDI. The TDI can dial out most iron but will still hit on the bigger stuff. That's how I pulled the iron key. The TDI was able to pick out lots more clad under the heaviest of trash and nails, but still no good coins or other goodies.

nice finds love the ring and key, been slow for me, 2 old farms late 1800's and 0 old coins dug an old dump and all I got was a nasty case of poison oak.:badday:But I did get two nice turkeys hunting the last 2 weeks in between the itching:happydance02:

Sorry to hear about the poison oak, that can be a real pain in the (ahem).
Been a lean year here too so far. I don't hunt turkeys, but if I did I would be in great shape. Usually have anywhere from 5 to maybe 15 or more in my yard every afternoon.
