2012 Park Totals

Now that we are snowed in, ground is crusty or frozen and the forecast for the next week is temps in the 30's, night in the 10's, I couldn't go detecting the past 2 days, so I decided to post (rare for me) my 2012 park find totals for everyones amusement. In the pics you will not see common silver or clad (they are sold, cashed in for metal detecting expenses). Also, silver coins not pictured are in the safe deposit box. I don't get too excited about the coppers, indians or nickels as they come out of the ground in not too nice condition. I love finding the silver though. Especially the seated and barber coins.

Large Coppers - 18
Indian 1 cent - 71
Liberty V Nickels - 8
Shield nickels - 4
2 cent pieces - 7
3 cent Nickel - 1
3 cent silver - 1
Half Dimes - 2
Mercury dimes - 87
Barber dimes - 46
Seated dimes - 19
Seated Quarters - 1
roosevelt dimes - 14
washington quarters - 11
walking liberty 50 cent - 2

great park totals Midas , congrats on the silvers and the couple of really choice coppers. |:cheering: |:cheering:

Great collection of finds. We all know the hours it takes to make those finds. People out side the hobby that see that collection think they can just buy a detector and do the same thing in a week. Makes me laugh rofl

I don't have a daily diary of each hunt, but I do detect everyday, weather permitting. My P/T job takes me to areas I never would have traveled to. (I get paid for mileage). So I schedule the jobs to allow me max detecting time.
I have no idea of the hours it took for the finds and I couldn't even guess the hourly wage.

Wow, what a terrific year! Very impressive totals, especially the (7) Two-Cent Pieces and the (19) Seated Dimes! :wow:

Very cool that you found both a Three-Cent Nickel and a Three-Cent Silver. Both are very tough coins to find.

Congrats on the fantastic year! I hope you have even better luck next year!

what do you do for ajob?

I took an early retirement in 2002 from the US Defense Dept. at the age of 48. Govt. pension wasn't quite enough, so I took a P/T job with a service company doing what I was doing for the Govt. - Quality Assurance source inspections and audits.
