3rd Half Dime of Year

After work, I hit a field next to a standing house. I've been over this area before, but today my plan was to dig lower targets. Hence the buff, but digging those 60s will net lots of coins too. None of these targets were in the 80s. The half dime was about 4in and showing high 60s! I put it on the ground after I dug it and ran the coil over it...it read 78. It's my 3rd seated half dime this year...another 1853 ho-hum :lol: KIDDING!!
The plate tag says T.R.Salisbury Danielsonville, Conn They changed the name from Danielsonville to Danielson in 1895. Thanks!

you starting a collection of 53's :lol: , incidently my last three half dimes have all been 1845's :crazy: its weird how out of the blue you can dig up the same coin , type of coin or even the same years of coins . Its true what they say i guess "the truth is sometimes stranger then fiction" :) congrats Drew !!
 
Nice silver, Drew. I wanna find a seated sometime. My oldest silver was just recent. Hard to fathom the ability to find large cents from the 1700s and then almost nothing up until early 1900s. There is literally a gap between 1787 and 1887 from my coinage findings. Interesting too. Once I put the dates down (the 1787 CT and the 1887 IH) is exactly 100 years. :shocked02:

Great coin Drew! Love the old tag as well. Perhaps with a little care you can straighten it out even more. I hit a streak last year when I found three 1919 wheat pennies in a row on two hunts (2 on the first, 1 on the second). 1919 was a common date of course but still statistically odd. Guess if you're having a draft lottery on seated half dimes you should put the money on 1845 or 1853!

Thanks all! Hey! I just realized...my other arrows half dime is an 1854! This is an 1853. I didn't know they used arrows for 2 years:shocked01:
