A couple field hunts, and an old beach find. Info please?

Hi all,
Last couple short field hunts didn't produce much, but I did get another piece of float copper, bullets, head stamp, and a pretty cool old compact, still full. Inside mirror is intact, but the silver is gone as usual. If anyone knows about the last looking symbol on front for an approximate age, manufacturer, etc. it would be appreciated.
One find almost gave me a heart attack! I had a nice deep 12-36, very solid. When I dug to about 10 inches I saw a large disc with a green rim. I thought for sure I had another LC, but once I broke away the dirt I was quite disappointed to see a perfect LC sized brass washer instead. :girlcry:
What I would really like to get info on is a beach find from a couple months ago that I had ignored. I thought it was just a lead pipe cap and was going to scrap it. But I went to clean the sand out out realized it was actually a lead bottle screw on cap, with glass from the bottle still inside! I can't seem to find any info other than one pic on Google showing a couple press on lead bottle caps dated to around 1876.

OK, finally found a tidbit of info on the lead bottle cap. I found an example on an old whiskey bottle from 1890. From what I gathered is that this type of bottle was hand blown and the top lip was hand ground flat. The soft lead cap was then able to make a good seal. The glass I have does contain a couple pieces with the top wher it was clearly ground. One side of the bottle is far thicker than the other so definitely hand blown. My best guess is it was from the last half of the 1800s, and could have washed up from one of the many shipwrecks in the vicinity.

Congrats on the old compact. Very nice find. Make sure you don't leave a mess in the sink when cleaning it out. I've made that mistake before! HH!
