A couple of old Dimes 1916-?

These are from a 3 hour hunt today at ,you guessed it, the grove. The CTX with the 6 inch coil has made this site open up again. It is slow tedious work but well worth the effort. Both of these dimes had iron in the hole with them. The barber is a 1913 and it had a rusty bottle cap in the hole. The Merc is a 1916 PLAIN and it had two rusty nails in the hole. Some day I'm going to see that D on the 16 Merc. I also got a 1911 and 1954-D wheat along with some clad.

WTG on getting some hidden keepers. Heck I would settle for just a plain old 1916 merc. Seems like every time you go back with your new 6" coil you find some great keepers. Your 1916 is a beauty and :congrats:on your keepers.

you and me both on
the 1916 i have 5 of them 4 are 1916s talk about bad luck anyway congrats on yet another good hunt at your go to spot it is still giving them up their has to be a few more good luck and go get them

Congrats on the two old dimes, Jeff! The Merc has very little wear. Great coin! First year Mercs don't turn up too often. I'm still looking for my first 1916-D too.

:congrats:

It won't be too long and that 6" coil with have paid for itself! :thumbsup02:
A couple more nice old silvers from the grove ! Love that place! :smitten:
