A steady flow of nice finds, Barbers, Indians and BIG silver.

A return trip to the old camp site produced another great hunt. The day started with 7 wheats in a row and then I got my first silver of the day a 1900 Barber dime. After the first silver it was an evenly paced day of great finds. My totals for the day were $4.13 in clad, 26 wheats, 1 1887 Indian, 1 Rosie, 5 Mercs, 1 Barber dime, 1 Barber quarter 1908-O, 1 Walking Liberty half 1944, a religious pendant and two rings (one is stamped sterling). One of the Mercs was a heart stopper a 1916 and I could see a mint mark but could not quite make it out so I headed to the van to get my loop. It turned out to be a 16-S. The other Mercs were 17-S, 27-D, 42-S and 43--S. The 17-S Merc was the first one I've found with that date and mark.

Another amazing hunt!!:wow:
Congrats on a bunch of excellent finds, including all that silver.
Sorry about the 1916, but I'm sure it got your heart pounding.
Maybe next year we could get together for a hunt.

Fantastic hunt with a bunch of great finds. A dime trifecta, big silver, bigger silver and a pile of wheat's. :notworthy:

That's an incredible day Jeff! Now I wonder what new area you tapped into there-that's the one I was looking for!

Anyway, those are some great additions to the collection-I haven't seen many S marked mercs, and that SLQ looks to be in great shape. The rings are a bit of a surprise, I wouldn't have expected those to come from that site. :congrats:

Nice. That's a lot of silver. The early mercs are more valuable, too. That's the one thing I miss about my TRanger, which I have only been using when I need a small coil or I am having EMI issues with dog fences. I could pretty much tell the difference between clad and solid/silver coins....just noticing how you picked up a lot of clad. It's under warranty so I won't touch it, but too bad I couldn't look into doubling the processor clock and swapping out the processor (if it can't handle the new digital frequency), and making any other adjustments on an A/D or the sine generator to make sure it still spits out the 6.8 kHz at the coil, but processes the received signal correctly and quicker. :daydream:

Great finds FF43! On a related matter, I need a new set of headphones. Any reason I should not use Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones with my Etrac?

A boat load of silver Jeff! What do you mean you'd like to have your detectors back? Certain machines at specific sites might perform better than the CTX? Congrats!
