Amazing SILVER coin from 1500's found in an unusual place!!

Thats pretty awesome Dave , your friend must of been thrilled to hear about the coin .Dan

Thanks Del. He was literally going to throw it away if I didn't want it! I just couldn't stand to see that and now he is green with envy! I'm actually thinking of gifting it back to him, but I still want to enjoy it for a little while longer.

That is one of the most AMAZING metal detecting finds I have ever seen, Dave! Who would have thought there would be a 500-year-old coin stuck in that shaving razor?! CRAZY COOL!

Thanks, Tony! I was a real treat to slowly removed the coin (more than 4 months) from being encased in solid rust. Since the hammered coin is paper thin, I really couldn't rush the process.

Wow, that's cool 1500's, I been watching a few of your videos, lots of awesome finds sir, I find relics and coins like that only in my dreams LOL.

Don't worry, sometimes dreams come true. I never even considered I would be digging ancient coins and relics until I got a job offer to move to Germany for 3 years. I met an amazing group of guys over there who have the same passion as we do for detecting. Everything just fell into place after that. You should also look into going to England on one of those detecting holidays. There are several folks on this forum who have done it, and I am sure they will all tell you it was worth every penny! Best wishes and happy digging, Dave.

That would be cool, but I won't fly on airlines, I was Maint Tech and a mechanic for over 50 years, and I understand how often machinery breaks down, not if but when it will break down, and to me airplanes are machinery, my luck would be any engine would fail and they ask over the intercom if there is a mechanic on board and if they would crawl out on the wing and fix it LOL, my younger years I broke a lot of OSHA regulations for the company I worked for, just to keep the plant running, one time it went bad, I'm not suppose to be here, lesson learned!!!
