This is a 4th Anniversary contest for AD. We are giving away the following:

-- 2 new Garrett AT Pro metal detectors

-- 2 new Garrett Pro-Pointers

Bart at Big Boy's Hobbies worked with us to provide these prizes at an excellent price! Thank you Bart!

Here are the details:

Prizes for the first part of this contest will include a new Garrett AT Pro and a Garrett Pro Pointer (to be given as two separate prizes to different individuals). All you have to do to enter the contest is to post to the thread that I have started for this contest, which is stickied to the top of this forum and is called "AD Contest Best or Most Memorable Find". We want to see your best OR most memorable find, along with background information/story (where you found it, why it's your best find, etc).

Note that this does NOT have to be a fantastic find in terms of historical or financial value; it can be your most memorable find for whatever reason. You can be a newbie detectorist and still win this contest. None of the finds will be judged - this is a drawing to include only those individuals who choose to participate by posting on the thread.

Everyone who posts to this thread will automatically be entered into the drawing for the AT Pro and Pro Pointer, as long as they are an active member here at the point of the prize drawing (defined as at least 20 substantive posts and regular participation, and/or at the discretion of administrators).

Drawing for the AT Pro and Pro Pointer will occur on December 31 at 9pm eastern time and will be videotaped.

After that, we will hold a second contest for the remaining AT Pro and Pro Pointer which will be the same or similar to this contest. (Previous prize winners will not be eligible for second contest).

Have fun and good luck :)

Some great prizes Angie :clapping:....thanks a bunch. But a special THANKS to everyone who has participated and made this forum a great place to call home :beerbuddy:

Thanks all!

I wanted to correct the drawing date from what I originally posted - I meant it to be December 31 (New Year's Eve) and not January 31 as I put the first time. Sorry!

I am going to require at least 40 entries for the contest to move forward... come on everyone, good chance to win great prizes! :) Thanks so much for your participation on AD!!!

What a great contest! I love the concept and that a winner is selected randomly. There are so many great finds and the stories behind them by the members of this forum! Thanks for putting this on and thanks also to Bart!

Those are some fantastic prizes Angie. Thanks for putting this up but I am surprised at how few seem to be participating. C'mon people! Get busy posting those memorable finds:bananadance:

Thanks for putting on this contest. The random drawing concept is an especially great idea. Those of us who are new and still learning have as much of a chance as some of the Legends here.
What a great way to end the year for someone.
good luck all

that bart seems a right nice bloke ,he can come round my house for xmas dinner if he wants...lol.
cheers EPI for putting on a great contest.

Feels great to be in our new house and back on our feet!!! I'm looking forward to spending more time here on the forum and being around a great group of people! Once again, thanks Angie for being a true friend throughout the years! Great contest Angie!

Being fairly new to detecting I am constantly amazed at what I find. I have not found anything of great value, a ring or two, many coins, a possible cannon ball mold, a few very old buttons, and pounds of objects that I cannot identify. But the greatest things that I have found are the friendships of others who share the love of the hobby. When I moved here from the deep south I found it hard to find friends, So I found a hobby that I could do by myself. Little did I know at the time that the hobby would become the source of every friendship that I now have.....Thanks guys. And while I still do the silver dance whenever Lee or myself find silver, I know that I have discovered what I want to do for the rest of my days every time I turn that machine on.

Angie the contest was a great idea and its always entertaining see some very very nice finds , to hear the story behind them and what they mean to the individual who found them . A special thanks to you and Bart for the generous contest prizes and also to the participating members who shared their pictures and story.

Good luck everyone

Dan

Not much more time to post everyone! The drawing is in a few hours for the first detector and pro pointer. Not very many have entered so those people are going to have a great chance of winning!

Win/lose...couldn't matter less. The stories along with the finds are priceless.
Thanks Angie, and Bart. You're both tops in my book!

Thanks guys .... much appreciated!

Bart gave a fantastic deal on these prizes as part of the contest and said he will throw in a T Shirt for the winners too! Thank you Bart, and thanks to all the great members and staff who have made AD a success!
