Another After Work Hunt...Only This Time GOLD!

Ill Digger

Moderator
I stopped at a sports field on the way home yesterday. I've hunted this field many times before. It holds old coins. But the old coins are few and far between any more. I did find 2 more wheaties. So I've started digging some of the low tones in hopes for some gold. Knowing that this field has been in use since the 1860's-1870's for everything from the traveling circus to modern day football and soccer games. I figured there has to be some gold out there somewhere. And believe me, there's plenty of low tones to check! :shocked01:

It just stopped raining when I got there. The forth hole hole I dug I seen that flash of gold I was hoping for!! :yahoo:

Here it is all cleaned up!! :thumbsup01:

Unfortunately while I was cleaning it with the toothbrush Jesus fell off the cross.:crying02:

I'll defiantly be taking this one to a professional jeweler to have it fixed! This is one of the coolest rings I've ever found!!
Not to mention it a 14K. Usually if I am lucky enough to find a gold ring it's 10K. AND this one ain't bent either! :yahoo:

As always.... Thanks for lookin' & HH!! :peace:

That's a very cool ring Tim. I would definitely get that one fixed. Just out of curiosity, how many pull tabs did you dig ? LOL
Congrats

Digging those low tones paid off in a big way for you, Tim! What a beautiful gold ring! WOW! Very unusual design.

:perfect10:

Great ring Tim , although I've seen a few religious rings in my day that one is very unique . congrats

Thanks Tony! This time it did. Like I said there's plenty more low tones out there to be investigated.

Outstanding ring,,, lots of detail,,, congrats to you!!
Thanks! It does have lotsa detail. I noticed it's not symmetrical on both sides of the cross. But I don't care that much!

WOW that's an impressive piece of jewelry. WD
Thanks WD! Like I said it's probably my favorite ring I've found so far.:thumbsup01:

Thanks Dan! It being such a unique design is what makes it my favorite ring find. It being 14K helps too!

Harmonica reeds too?! Don't you hate those tabs that are SUPPOSED to stay on the can?!!! :shocked03::lol:
That is one awesome ring! Is that white gold too? Is that a sifter you have that stuff on? Nice job Tim!

Yeah even harmonica reeds. This field has been in use for a loooong time. It sure is funny how those stinking tabs just fall off cans. And yes its my sifting screen. When I get home I just dump my finds bag on the screen and let all the dirt fall into a big flower pot. Then go through everything and sort them out accordingly. I made it out out of 1x3 and some 1/4 inch screen. Works good. :thumbsup01:

Beautiful gold !
Thanks Glen.
When I was out there you came to mind, I was wonder how you do it. Digging all those junk signals!
I know you gotta dig the junk to find the gold, but it seems like you have better luck with it than I do. :envious: But now after this find, I'm gonna go back out there and try and cleean up some more in hopes of finding some more of the yellow stuff. :crossfingers: Wish me luck.

What an unusual ring. I love it.
Thanks Ron. Thats what I thought to. Pretty unique. I love it! :smitten:
I'm even gonna take it in and have it fixed. Usually I would've just super glued it back together and put it in my display case. But not this one. I'm curious if Jesus is a white gold, or silver? Hopefully the jeweler can tell me.:crossfingers:

Tim, fantastic piece of gold and probably the most unique design I have seen found. I too would spend the money to get it fixed.
