Another Neaby Site - Minie Ball, Rosette + More

I got back out again yesterday, this time to a site that is next door to the one I hunted last week. It is a lot with a vacant house on it and the yard is nicely mowed. Small front yard but a large back yard. The Merc came from the front yard, everything else came from the back yard.

It is so nice being able to detect in February!

I was especially pleased with the bridle rosette!

The dropped minie ball was a nice surprise!

I love this padlock! I will have to Google it to get the story behind it.

An interesting old button.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

Well done! Is that a minie ball? I thought they had three grooves. It could be another type of civil war era bullet maybe? I am no bullet expert.

Thats a pretty Indian!

OK, so here's the lock info for anyone who is interested. The lock is made by Thirard FTH based in Fressenneville, France. This particular lock was supposedly to commemorate the first flight of the Concord to reach mach 2 which happened November 4, 1970, although I can't find what year it was issued.

Thanks for the info! When I Googled it I got a lot of results in French, now I know why!

Geez, Tony! You did awesome! So many great finds. What is the item in the first pic, all the way to the left? It almost looks like a piece of scrap silver.
