Antique broach? Any idea on age?

While looking for a persons lost ring in some hedges with my detector, i found this broach down about 3 inches. It was in an area of st. Pete, fl where an old hotel and retail district use to be and is now a parking lot. No markings and it does not appear to be silver and not magnetic. Any idea on a possible age? Thanks for looking.

Ill have to take a picture of the back but its kind of a standard pin that then tucks in a small slot on the other end which has a trap that rotates over the slot to close it. Best i can describe it.

i have no idea as to the age Stan but it just has a 1930's to 40's kind of vibe i get from it. would love to see it all cleaned up and nice and shiney again though.

Believe it or not the pic on the paper towel is after cleaning. I dont think its going to shine up. I think the steel grey color may be the end product. I cleaned with soap and water then 3 baths in the sonic cleaner. I was hoping for shiney too. Im thinking 40's.
