any ideas guys

Digger, concaved. Got me stumped though. Something off a horse saddle or harness decoration maybe?

Mike its half side to a "butterfly" sash buckle these were very popular from the Victorian era to just up until the 1920's and they came in many designs , themes and metal compositions . here is a similar whole one to show you the two parts and how they connect. Also a picture of a traditional sash buckle worn on a woman's dress of that era

Yup, 100% sure it's half a sash buckle like Dan showed. I'd say being ornate, it'd be Victorian era. Prob more of a dressy style being a 'light duty' design.
