Civil War Nut

New member
Need a little help from you pros out there. I found this beside an old road bed that the soldiers traveled here in Kenton where I live, and about 20 yards from the railroad. I put the .69 cal. by it for size. Thanks for any help.

Freaky.. Looks like a masonic symbol.. But similar to a bag seal..No help here. All the best on an id..... :dontknow: :thinkingabout:

looks like somekind of seal , probably a bag seal like Rick said but the question is to what .

I'd agree on the seal for the 1st item...and that's a neat one...never seen 1 in that style :shocked04: thumbsup01

the 2nd photo looks to be possibly a weight :thinkingabout:

This is probably a seal. It appears to have a wire end and possibly another securing spot for the other end. It looks little like mine on my power meter at home, but I found 2 others in the yard when I began metal detecting. Who know, it might have been a railroad box car seal but it's old if it is. It's a cool find! martin

I've never seen the insignia that's on it but it's some sort of lead seal that probably came from the railroad.
