April's finds and a BIG milestone.

Here is the results of 5 outings since the beginning of April. These are all from sites I've previously hunted. I found a first, one of the new Presidential $1 coins. I also got 2 silver Rosie's, 8 Mercs, a 1916 Buffalo, 29 wheats and a 1915-S Barber Dime. The Barber is somewhat of a key date, it graded at F12 and only had a mintage of 960K that year.

Now for the milestone. I have been detecting since 1977. Many of those years I did not touch a detector or keep very good records. In the fall of 2007 after several years without even owning a detector I got the bug again and purchased a Whites DFX. Shortly after that I found my first silver a no date SLQ, needless to say, I was hooked again. I hit silver coin number 500 since that SLQ this week when I dug a 1917-D Merc form a site that I had not hunted since 2008. I was using the DFX back then. This also happens to be my first 17-D Merc. It was a jumpy signal and at 8-9 inches and I was using the CTX with the 17" coil. I knew I was getting close to 500 but did not know it was the one until I did the official count yesterday. I've already found #1 of my next 500. Thanks for looking.

WTG.....500 silvers. Isn't record keeping fun.... Seriously :congrats:on the milestone and hoping the next 500 comes quicker.

Wow, great hunts. April was good to you. Thanks for sharing your finds with us. I enjoy looking at what others find. HH!!

Outstanding milestone jeff. I have always said it is amazing what lies beneath our feet especially for someone who knows how to use a detector. great finds and that Barber is a beauty. WD

Way to go, sir! Wisconsin is not always the easiest place to find silver. Always enjoy watching your videos too. If you ever get up this way deer hunting again I'd like to shake your hand. I have been at this seriously since 2011 and I am only at #199 for Etrac silvers, hoping to hit the big one this weekend.

i don't do much animal hunting anymore and only get up around Chippewa Falls a couple times a year to visit family. Hopefully we can meet someday. Good luck with your quest for 200.

500! :wow:
Congrats on the benchmark Jeff!

I don't even know how many silvers I've found since picking up the hobby back in '09.
Now you've got me wondering. :thinkingabout:
