Axe Head Before and After

Up at the old 1930's era sawmill site where I recovered that odd "BB Union Made" button I also found an axe head down about 6-7".

Here's a photo of it when I recovered it and again today after electrolysis and boiling oil. It was a fun project!

Looks a lot better Karl , I have to get off my rear and get at all the iron tools i have collected over the years .

Put a handle on it and sharpen that puppy up looks like she might have some life left in her still!

Very good job on it! Now it can be displayed without any further oxidation to it.

I thought what I might do with it is present it to the 90-something year old guy that told me about the mill and remembers when it was in operation. I'm pretty sure he'd like to have something from the mill.
