Made a return trip to the old baseball field today & you all were right on about there being silver there :happydance01: dug up a 1903 Indian head penny & a good looking 1941-D Merc also some clad and a 1965 quarter at about 8-9 inches  That one had me fooled good.. lol Also dug up another neat dog tag..I've covered about 20% of the field now, just another 80% to go..Thanks.

I know the feeling! I dug a '65 dime todat at 7 inches
I was tellin' my self &quot:daydream:h yeah! This is silver....WRONG !! 8/ :bangahead01:
Oh well . At least you were able to pull some silver after all! thumbsup01
Plus a IH, good deal !!
Congrats

Those deeply buried clad quarters sure do get the adrenaline going. lol One silver from that field, and more to come. thumbsup01

Great score on the Indian and Mercury :clapping: Nice hunt. I have had my share of them deep clad quarters and dimes :ticked: I get realy, realy mad when I see a dirty coin and not that silver I was expecting lol I would just throw it, but I'm afraid I'd find it later 8/ Nice hunt and still a lot of room left to detect. If the area gives up more silver, you may want to hit it again in the Spring, when there is real nice ground moisture!!

My Explorer II hits pretty good on the larger coins :), dimes & pennies are another story, they start to give a very weak broken signal around 7-8 inches deep & at that depth it starts getting very hard to tell the difference between coins & iron.. crying01 I've only used this machine for about 3 years so I'm still learning it.. lol
