The day started out mostly sunny, I think it made it up to around 40° today. :dontknow: With the rains coming in tonight I couldn't stand it any more! :hairpulling: So I grabbed the detector and hit the door thumbsup01 First I went to a home site that I've only been able to find one coin at so far(1865 IH). After about 2 hours of not finding much I decided to leave that site and head back to the 1870's school site that I've had better luck at in the past. Not that it was a action packed hunt. Heck I only found one coin! But it's a oldie! thumbsup01 After getting the signal I started to push the dirt around with my pin pointer (it was less than 2 inches) I seen the edge of a coin so I ran went back to my truck to get the camera....

Congrats on your third Shield Nickel, Tim! That's a great find, I've never found one. That one looks like 1868 to me.

Nice hunting Tim, I'm with Tony. I also have never found one. So the shield nickle is now the oldest coin fromt his site? Congrats on getting it out of the ground and the pictures of your Grand Slam in dimes was nice to.
 
Ah, yes! That is a nice one Tim. :clapping: It's great when the nickels come out with some details. The dates on shield nickels are small, and tend to be hard to make out, but that one looks good. :yes:
