Hello all!
This recover target represent two dates...
Friday March 25, 2011... I got out for about 90 minutes after a long week at work
This Trolley token was 4-5 and rang up as 12/34 12/35 on my Etrac... I was hoping for an Indian... but a neat old token was a welcome suprise
This Barber rang in nice and clear in the 6-7 range... Yeah I clipped it :-(
This pencil sharpner was the last target as the light was fading fast... It was a 12/25 @ 8... It is stamped Made in Germany and the sharpner blade was with it..
Saturday March 26th... I spend about 5 1/2 hours at a new foundation...
The hunt started with a signal 15 minutes in... 12/24 12/25 @ 2-3...
I was not thinking coin at all... but a fatty popped right out... and I could see the back and the wreath... and NO shield so I knew it had to be an 1859 IH...
15 minutes later I got a 12/11 signal at the base of a tree @ 6... I was hoping for an early nickel
What period is this Button?
Then it was a quite few hours... shotgun shells... and trash...
Then I moved into the barn foundation area... there were lots of surface junk... old large cables, iron that was rusting, etc... but as I moved towards the middle on the right I got a 12/24 @ 2-3...
Hello Mr. 1858 Flying Eagle... My first !!
but as you can see... the detail is in the build up on the coin.... much like that Indian... They both are pretty much toast :-(
60 minutes later I was seeking one more good target and was working between the barn and house foundation... This was a crazy signal like a large piece of big iron/metal near the surface... I almost did not dig it... but I'm glad I did
Is this a wax seal ??
Happy Hunting all!
Paul
