Buckle Age? Old Lock and Keyhole Plate

A few interesting digs from hunts yesterday and today... an old Yale & Towne lock with a nice patina, a cool keyhole plate, and a buckle.

The buckle is a head scratcher for me; I've never really been able to place this style in terms of age. Based on its weight and feel I'd guess it's old but I'm not sure. Hopefully the good forum folks can educate me!

that particular buckle is part to a harness not sure if its a horse or oxen , i've recovered a few from animal pens at sites that were from the mid to late 1800's .
