Button and mysterious item needs ID help please.

I found this button the other day and was looking for some info on age and origin. Also this item which looks adjustable..thought maybe a pendulum from a clock? Any help appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I just Googled clock pendulum and saw many just like your's. That's what it must be. thumbsup01
You could check the excellent button post at the top of the relic forum. :groovy:
 
steel backs on buttons almost exclusively mean 1900's or newer , and Naval buttons traditionally had brass backs . so it would seem to be civilian .

i believe they call them tin backs as the composition should be slightly different , would love to see them posted fronts and backs
