Button or Cap?

I found this a few weeks ago and finally cleaned it up a bit. I found it in THE PARK where I have found Large cents all the way to modern coins, but we have also found military items too, musket balls, a sharpshooters badge from 1902, it's not too far from the Springfield Armory.

My thought was that it was a cap from something like a cologne bottle, but Tim who was with me when I found it thinks it's a front of a button. It seems to be made of pewter.

It could be a good find....or it could be junk....what do you think? (and yes I know my pics are horrible)

Rob, Rob, Rob.... your pics are horrible lol

(And no offense meant, we all love you here :poke:  lol )

I'm no photoshop guru but this might be *slightly* better. Not much but slightly.

To me it looks old (I know, not a big help...) It looks like two horses rearing up on each side and holding some kind of shield in the middle?

Looks more than a little like the PA state seal button here, although not exact.
