Okay I know its a button but I can't find any information on the back mark.
Back mark reads CHAUNCEY BROOKS BALTIMORE
Any help greatly appreciated

I love history and our hobby really brings that history to light! I recommend you search the U.S. census records for Baltimore for 1830, 1840, and 1850 and see if your button maker is listed with his occupation!

I've seen this Dave but it does not mention if he was a button manufacturer....

I edited my post Al. You got to Google the census records and find his occupation listed. It will list all members of his household and their ages too. You can compare that to the funeral notice just to make sure we're talking about the right Chauncey. Good luck!
 
It is very possible that Chauncey Brooks was not a button maker. He could have been a dealer in clothing. Most buttons made in the US were produced by one of four button manufacturers, Waterbury, Scovill, Horstmann & Steele and Johnson.
I think your button would date from about 1820 to the late 1830s.
