So,I find a deep site near a swamp and Todd & myself make the trek out to the site. When we get there the site looks amazing.nestled in a field of ferns lays this massive center chimney foundation with cut quarry stone topping the lip of the hole.I see a couple dig holes and Todd mentions this looks similiar to the site Dan & Bri were at :shocked04: (lookin at Bri's pics I can say yep same site ) and we were off swinging.a couple buttons.a tombac & the star burst pattern one ,a lead musketball all chewed up and a draped bust LC just to the left of the wall opening in road just past cellar hole.the site was hit pretty good and only spent a few hours there.
the next site was sooo trashy (not far from road) that it was too frustrating to bother with for very long.
Todd wanted to go back to a site we had been to before to end the day.I got a large coat button with a gold gilted flower motiff amazingly still hanging on,a spoon bowl.had to work for our targets at all the sites

Dave, some nice finds from those worked sites. Always nice to get another LC especially a draped bust. I see your copper total is at 45 1/2, how's the competition between you and Todd in that category.
As always great pictures and :congrats:on your keepers.

hey congrats on the copper , finds weren't easy to come by there . maybe when the ferns die down it will reveal some areas and goodies. its to bad too its such a nice big site , my take there was some brass scraps about 8 or 9 shotgun shells , a brass button , spoon bowl and a scale from a military chinstrap . I'm sure Brian and I weren't there as long as you an Todd , how were the machines acting in that area I had lots of emi.

That floral button had that design coming out of the ground yet the rest of it was toasted? Wow. The patina on the front almost looks like star pattern as if the two buttons found facing each other.

Dave said they were there only few hours. Bri found all 5 buttons in less than 2 hrs?

As Dan pointed out when we were there, can only imagine what the 1'st guys to hit that place were digging up. She's a sweet site for sure.

Glad to see the place coughed up a few goodies for you guys.

this piece is the end and smallest of the pieces that are sewn onto leather that make up a "scaled chin strap" for a military shako helmet.

The item in the upper left of the last picture Dave looks like a money clip, I dug a similar one a couple years ago. What do you think?

Nice haul for a pounded site Dave. It's weird how beautiful a site can be but not deliver a pocket full of coppers
