shot back up to the same site I dug 3 coppers at last week,pickins were slim a button here n there.a couple pull tabs,then another pull tab signal.36 on the VDI,expectin to see another beaver tail I got a little suprise
a tiny silver disc in the hole.thinkin cuff button at 1st glance in the hole,as soon as I picked it up I knew what she was.a 1853 three cent silver.the obverse is pretty worn but the reverse held up pretty well!
the fork is stamped the colonnade any ideas? a hotel or Inn?
THE 3 IH's were a pocket spill from yesterdays wet hunt with Gary

That's a great coin to find. Sitting next to the Wheat cent, you can really see how small it is.

hey Brandon , they ring out a little higher than shotgun shells on the dfx , and vdi (depending on depth and angle they were laying) from +38 to +48 but i agree they are so tiny i at first mistook them for a buttons as well.
 
Another great keeper for you. The 3 cent silver or any 3 cent coin is very high on my wish list. :congrats: They sure are a tiny coin. Very nice hunt.
