Civil war era Navy button?

Found this button in Jun 2014. I have researched and what I have found it is civil war era. Any ideas?
The way the eagles head is facing is a big reason for my decision. The back side is gone.

This design has many variations and most were for civilian use , especially the iron backed types .

I think that just about every relic hunter has found one of these buttons. They are civilian blazer buttons. The lack of detail and the fact that the back is gone are good clues.
