Coca Cola Fob

Was out at a friend's lake place and found this near their pavillion.coke1.jpgcoke2.jpg. Again, the pictures are not too good. Sorry. One side says Drink Coca Cola in Bottles 5c. The other has an image of a girl holding up a drink. This piece of metal hasn't cleaned up really well, lots of green, that I don't believe is suppose to be there.

it looks to be made of either copper or copper alloy (hence the ruddy red metal) that was gold gilted at one time , probably early 1900's judging from the hard green patina build up.

Thank you all, for looking and replying. It's how we learn! I had no idea regarding the age or how it got where it was. Guess i'll go back and see what else may pop up.

Sweet find there Kasey, bet that was better than finding iron. :happydance01:
Thank you, Tom. Yes, I actually notched out the iron for this hunt, because it was around the pavillion where the owner's have parties/gatherings and the lawn is fairly nice. I was practicing my plug digging with my new digger tool. I first thought it was a dog rabies tag when I lifted it out of the 6" hole! I was barely able to read 'coca cola' in the field without my specs. Now I'm ecstatic to know it's potential age and relevance. Can't wait to show/give it to the prop. owner.

Now THAT is a really cool find! Talk about an awesome piece of Americana! Coca-Cola items are very collectible and some of them are valuable, especially ones from that era. Plus they are just really neat looking!

:congrats:
