Colt Powder Flask!

Went out door knocking ended up at a house we had huntef before. My sole good find is the side of a small powder flask, typical size used for pistols. It has an Eagle spread wings with a shield, stars and crossed pistols underneath. I think there is some writing under the crossed pistols that say E Pluribus Unum
Turns out it is a flask that is typically found for a cased Colt 1849 Pocket , Colt Root and Colt Baby Dragoon revolver.

Well thanks Tim but still not allowed to dig holes yet, not for a couple more weeks, Doug did all the digging today, for his 8 year old son and his 68 year old friend rofl

I think I could dig, feel pretty good but the doctor told me to keep the hip restrictions until April 11 that would be 8 weeks total. As much as I would like to do my own digging I am going to follow orders.

Yep a little elbow grease some SOS and Olive oil does wonders... lol

If you want to see how the flask came with the revolver here is a picture of a cased 1849 Pocket model.

You may not want to give up the helpful digger on the 11th :) I wonder if that was made at the Colt factory in Hartford. Sweet find!

Wow that will look nice in a display case, restored or not

Big time congrats on a rare find :clapping:

Nice find! If your friend digs too slow you can whack him with the cain! :behave:

Well I guess then I could be accused of Raising Cane? lol

I wouldn't do that Doug worked hard that day, I had one deep target near a tree and I have never seen so many roots and i don't mean little sucker roots these were an inch or better in size and they crisscrossed everywhich way. After almost 10 minutes of his digging and working through roots I told him to give up on it as it was taking too much time away from his hunting.
