Never seen the small s either. Wonder if it was a wrong dye or something?

could be the dies, hopefully Dan can help.the stamped brass piece is rather large for a rosette face, but then again who knows.no sign of any lead backing and it's not concave on the back like most rosettes i have dug

:clapping: Congrats on the pair of Mercs. Love the buttons, I really wish I could find more than I do. :-\

You're experienced eye spotted the cut where the house once stood. I for one would not have seen anything. :congrats: on some silvers and that button is very interesting. Hopefully Dan will know something about the small s's
