I found the ULTRA RARE red 1967 25 cent piece  This is some of the finds from the last 3 trips out. A few not too old buckles, A few buttons, a mex925 silver ring and lots of clad. I hit a few spots with Don and Mike, local Long Islanders. In the fall, with cooler weather, I plan on hitting a lot of new sites. The oldies are out there!!! Have a great week folks.

I'll give you a quarter for that red quarter lol Some of those finds seem pretty old. That buckle on the left and the two flat buttons have some age to them. But I hate them D buckles :ticked: I get them all the time. Can't date them accurately and they sound oh so sweet :bangahead01: The weather is slowly changing and some great detecting weather is almost upon us.

What is a D buckle?

I want one of those red quarters! Actually that's pretty cool :cheering:

Grats on the silver ring, and nice assortment of finds. That red quarter could just as easily have been silver.

Well, I've just been told its a jukebox quarter thumbsup01 And Epi, a D buckle Im guessing is a buckle shaped like the letter D

Nice work Steve , a nice variety of stuff . I think some meal detecting clubs use some of those different colored quarters in their seeded hunts to match to corresponding prizes but some are probably done with fingernail polish by female students that are bored in class . :thinkingabout:

Okay, well, this apparently is my day for dumb statements  lol I thought the 'D' stood for something. I didn't even look at the shape.

Cool story about the quarter.

Interesting story on the red quarter... so tell me, what is a PURPLE quarter for? lol

I always thought they may fool the machine into giving them back but still getting a free play out of them?? Not sure if that was just an urban legend lol But I have found wheats that were shaved down to the size of a dime and used in pay phones. They do work. Saves you nine cents on every call lol Thrifty
