Finally On The Board! 2 Copper Day!

Hey All. It has been by far my toughest season ever!

I have been searching & hunting new spots galore and have had such bad luck I was really beginning to wonder if something was wrong with my machine. In the last 2 years I have had to replace my original 10" DD Stock Coil as well as my 6x9 Eclipse DD due to the plastic casing finally wearing out where it attaches to the coil, so was beginning to wonder if something was wrong with my coils, so I did some air testing...etc and everything seemed to work ok.

Yesterday I was way out in the boondocks on the CT/NY line and was having no luck again and was saying I need to send my tector in for a check up. After hrs of hunting I finally got that sweet sound I have been dying to hear, copper! Dug down and out pops this lovely DB! YES! 5 feet away I get that sweet sound of copper again & out pops what I thought was a KG II, but when I got home and cleaned it I discovered it was a CT! Love my CT's! Needless to say the drought is over & I'll be headed back to this spot in the fall when the ferns are all dead!

Also got the buckle last month.

HH,
Roger

Two amazing coppers that I will never find here in Illinois if I hunt for 100 years! :congrats:

Can you tell if the draped bust is from the 1700s or 1800s?

The buckle frame is very nice too!

Thanks guys! I feel so good to be outta my slump, was really getting tired of coming home empty handed.

The DB looks to be 1806 or 1807, depending on how I angle it I see the 6 or a 7 and sometimes I see both, who knows could be the 7 over 6 variety.

Some great finds Roger, congrats on ending that drought! I know the feeling, been on a silver drought myself until recently and had thought there may be something wrong mith my machine as well. Great feeling to finally find some good keepers.

Yay. Grats Rog. Good to see you finally pull up an LC (s). Nomorecomplaining.... The buckle is nice. I never made it out to the borders of CT/NY but I have a few spots that I researched a bit. The maps I got are not zoomed in enough to locate the spots... but I am sure further research I could do so. Maybe I'd have to find someone who could head to that side of the state. (I'm in the middle from E-W).

Great snag on the two coppers and congrats! Always such a good feeling to be rejuvenated after a string of bad luck. They don't call it dirt fishing for nothing! HH!
